Aston Villa prepare club record £60m bid for Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips
Aston Villa have reportedly emerged as favourites to sign Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips in the summer.
According to The Times, the billionaire-owned Premier League club are willing to break their club record and table a £60million for him.
Apart from that, they’re also willing to offer the England international a massive pay hike to leave Elland Road at the end of the season.

Will he leave?
Phillips has been at Leeds for 12 years so for him to leave, it would take something spectacular.
He’s not the kind who would leave for a bigger paycheck if he does not see his game going to the next level.
Villa might have the money but the major question is whether or not they will be playing in the Champions League in the coming few seasons.
Everything points towards that not happening, so Phillips may look elsewhere if he does want to go.

Manchester City and Chelsea will both be looking for midfielders either this summer or next and Phillips should be on their shortlists.
He would rather move to a club of that stature rather than Villa, who could regress in the next year or two.
For Leeds, receiving that kind of money for a player is a huge deal, but given the fact that it’s Phillips, they will ponder over it a hundred times as he means a lot to the fanbase.
In other Leeds United news, Steve McManaman claims that a Whites man has already lost the trust of fans and some players after what happened last week.
