Ashley Williams: Diego Llorente could have done better for Harvey Barnes goal
Ashley Williams has blasted Leeds United defender Diego Llorente for his role in the equalising goal in the 1-1 draw against Leicester.
The Sky Sports pundit took his hat off to Harvey Barnes but insisted that the Spanish international could have been more urgent to show him down the line instead.
Raphinha had given Leeds the lead, but that only lasted 73 seconds at Elland Road as the lead was once again thrown away instantly.
Speaking on Match of the Day 2 last night, Williams wasn’t too impressed with the Spaniard’s lack of desire to step up.
“That is just an unbelievable finish,” he said. “That’s the kind of quality in front of goal that we’re talking about that Leeds were lacking today.
“If we’re being super critical, Llorente maybe should have shown him down the line to his left foot.”

Harsh.
Sometimes, you simply have to take your hat off to an opponent and we think that this was one of those times.
Barnes somehow found the only spot of the goal that would have beaten Illan Meslier, and that is the sort of luck that Leeds have at this moment in time.
After missing all those chances and scoring the opener, it would have been hoped that we could have kicked on and dominated our way to three points.
Those hopes were killed instantly, but credit to Leeds, they never stopped working and deserved that win with one of their best performances of the season.
Both Llorente and Liam Cooper certainly had some shaky moments in possession though, and that is something that will definitely need working on going forward.
