Arsenal receive positive signals in talks with Leeds United star Raphinha
Arsenal reportedly received positive signals from Raphinha’s camp when they conducted talks with the Leeds United attacker.
According to Times journalist Freddie Paxton, the Gunners were impressed after speaking with the Brazilian’s camp recently and know that they have to make a move quickly given the competition for his services.
It is understood that a second offer for Raphinha will be submitted soon.
Paxton wrote on Twitter, “Arsenal will soon submit a second bid for Leeds winger Raphinha. Club clearly received some positive signals when speaking to the player’s camp recently but #AFC aware they need to move quickly to beat the competition.”
While we would love to see him at Elland Road for another few months, we know that the ship has sailed and he will be on his way out.
Since months, Barcelona have been the club he’s wanted to join, but they cannot come up with the funds in order to sign him.
If they completely pull the plug on him, Raphinha must wait for either Chelsea or Spurs to come in for him as both can offer him Champions League football.
While Spurs do not win trophies, they at least challenge at the top of the league and play in the Champions League way more than their North London rivals.
However, it looks like the Gunners have made the most progress in the department of discussing terms with him and seem favourites after Barcelona.
