Andrea Radrizzani sends Twitter message to Kiko Casilla

Leeds United finally confirmed the exit of Kiko Casilla this week as he sealed a move back to Spain.

The goalkeeper has joined Elche on an initial loan deal but will have the option to make it a permanent switch should everything go smoothly.

Casilla has been disgraced since being found guilty of racist abuse and had no real future under Marcelo Bielsa.

Andrea Radrizzani thought differently though and decided to send Casilla a message thanking him for his work.

The Whites owner delivered the words on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday evening, labelling him a legend.

“Mucha gracias Kiko, an example of professionalism and dedication,” he said.

“Leeds will be always your home. You are a legend part of the team who made history for our club. Buena suerte en La Liga.”

Goodbye.

Even if the likes of Radrizzani and Bielsa have great respect for Casilla, it is hard for others to feel the same.

That respect left after the drama of the past couple of years and now seems to be the perfect time for him to move on.

With two years left on his deal, it is unlikely he will ever feature again for Leeds, and that is probably for the best.

We will remember every last player who played a part in bringing us back to the Premier League in that squad, but some more fond than others.

Radrizzani has really put some passion into this message, and we can see that the Whites are losing a player that is held in high regard around the club.

Time to move on, though, this is for the best.
