Andrea Radrizzani responds when quzzied on Barcelona money to Leeds United for Raphinha deal
Andrea Radrizzani appears to have confirmed that Barcelona have paid up to Leeds United for their deal to sign Raphinha this summer.
The Whites chairman included a penalty clause in the deal that meant any payment not made by September 2nd, would lead to more money being added on.
It appears as though that isn’t the case though, with the deadline passing on Friday and Radrizzani confirming that everything was “all good.”
Writing on his personal Twitter account when quizzed on the matter, Radrizzani seemed to respond to give the impression that all was well.
“All good,” he wrote.
“Thanks for caring.”
So, it looks as though Barcelona have coughed up the cash.
Leeds finished the window with rumours that not much money was available to make signings, although the push for Cody Gakpo at PSV Eindhoven suggests otherwise.
Now that certainly isn’t the case, with more than £50million being pumped into the club if Leeds negotiated the deal in one lump sum rather than instalments.
Radrizzani admitted there would be a riot if Juan Laporta did not pay up in time so that pressure is likely to have delivered results with the club now certainly in the green.
With his money being expected and having now arrived, it is disappointing that a bigger push wasn’t made on deadline day, especially after letting Dan James leave.
Wilfried Gnonto arrived and he will prove to be an excellent signing in the future, but we needed that one last massive name to really sign off the window in style.
At least this is hopefully one last saga to deal with now.
