Andrea Radrizzani reacts to Leeds United announcement of Pascal Struijk new contract
Andrea Radrizzani has praised Pascal Struijk for his growth and thanked him for his loyalty to Leeds after it was announced he has signed a new deal with the club.
The Whites made the official announcement on Wednesday evening (21 December) that the Dutch defender has signed a new five-year deal at Elland Road, keeping him at the club until 2027.
And in reaction to the news, Leeds owner Radrizzani took to his personal Twitter account to thank the player for being loyal to the club and putting pen to paper.
“Delighted and proud to see your professional and personal growth,” he wrote (21 December).
“Thank you for being loyal.”
The news to sign Struijk to a new contract at Leeds is excellent considering his brilliant performances this season out of position at left-back and also at centre-back.
Struijk has shown a consistent level of quality and ability despite being in an uncomfortable position, proving that he is willing to do anything to help the team and is more than good enough to help us get to where we want to be.
During the friendlies in the World Cup break he has slotted in seamlessly at centre-back in his more natural position and looked good too, giving Jesse Marsch more options in a season that is going to be rammed with fixtures.
At just 23-years-old he is only going to get better with age and experience, and Leeds have now got him tied down for some of the best years of his career.
He is on the brink of the Dutch national team, is in the form of his career and had no reason to leave Elland Road anyway, so it’s great to see the commitment is a two-way street and everyone is happy.
