Andrea Radrizzani parting gift to Leeds United fans as Fabrizio Romano shares Weston McKennie transfer update

Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani could well send an exciting parting gift to the Whites faithful by signing Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie.

The Italian Serie A giants are reportedly willing to listen to offers for the USA international this month and have already offered [24 January] his to several Premier League clubs.

And according to Fabrizio Romano, writing on his Twitter account [24 January] revealed the Whites are exploring new options for their midfield during the January window, and are considering McKennie as one of the possibilities alongside long-held target Azzedine Ounahi.

The Whites have already opened talks with the Serie A giants over a winter move according to Sky Italia reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, with all sides involved in the ideal willing to see it go ahead.

And with owner Radrizzani looking to sell the club [28 December] to 49ers Enterprises, who are both currently in discussions [23 January] regarding to the current state of the club, a move for McKennie could well be the Italian’s final parting gift before he sells up.

And what a sensational move it could be for Leeds boss Jesse Marsch to significantly boost the quality in his squad, as well as during up his midfield with the club already in a potential relegation dogfight with half the campaign gone.

The 24-year-old will arrive with European and international pedigree and experience, something the Whites desperately need as they try to navigate their way out of a troubling predicament in the Premier League table.

The 41-time United States international has endured a rather mixed spell at Juventus ever since his move from Schalke 04 in the summer of 2021, but has still managed to add a lot of creativity and invention when they’ve need it most, so far registering 13 goals and five assists in 96 appearances.

As shown at the Qatar World Cup in 2022, alongside new Elland Road fan favourite Tyler Adams, McKennie would add much industry, cutting-edge and dynamism to their midfield and could well form a stunning partnership with his international teammate under Marsch.

Radrizzani would certainly be leaving on a high if he was to get this deal done this month, as well as more crucially leaving the club in a more exciting, new and improved state for the proposed new owners in the 49ers Enterprises.

In other Leeds news, “high likelihood” that Leeds complete another signing before the window closes according to Phil Hay.
