Ally McCoist has hit back at claims that Spurs should try and poach Marcelo Bielsa from Leeds United at the end of the season.

Jamie O'Hara and Tony Cascarino have consistently been calling for that move, despite there being little-to-zero chance of it happening

McCoist insisted he would be "gutted" if El Loco decided to leave Elland Road, as he has fallen in love with how they have played in the Premier League.

Speaking on talkSPORT this morning, McCoist made the bizarre suggestion and then backtracked by confessing his love for the Whites.

"If you're Spurs, you clearly want to get the best available," he said.

"Two of the best available would be Brendan Rodgers and indeed, Bielsa. I would be gutted if Bielsa left Leeds because I love the job he's doing.

"I love Leeds, I love the way they've played the game this season, the way they've entertained us, they've been a great watch."

Available?

We don't know where McCoist is getting his ideas from, but Rodgers and Bielsa certainly aren't available for Spurs to take.

Why would either of them leave their current clubs?

Leicester and Leeds are both clubs on the up, whereas Spurs are clearly crashing, and the possibility of Harry Kane and others leaving could leave them in a nightmare.

Bielsa is here for the long-term and pushing the Whites towards European football, as BT Sport presenter Jake Humprey confirmed during the Spurs game on Saturday.

Who knows? We could take Spurs spot in the qualification for Europe, wouldn't that be ironic.
