Ally McCoist reacts as Ancelotti to Leeds United claim made live on talkSPORT
Ally McCoist says he would trust Daniel Farke in the Premier League after a Leeds United fan raised the question about Carlo Ancelotti being appointed at Elland Road.
As things stand, Leeds occupy the summit of the Championship and are well on their way to achieving their ultimate goal of promotion.
If that were to happen, the credentials of Farke to manage in England’s top flight may come under question.
With Ancelotti rumoured to be leaving Real Madrid in the summer, one Leeds supporter raised a query as to whether he could be persuaded to move to Elland Road if they get promoted.
McCoist said with a grin on his face live on talkSPORT [21 January, 9:52am]: “I would trust [Farke] in the Premier League.”
The former Rangers player went on to add that Ancelotti is “different class” and that he could “manage anywhere on the planet”.
Daniel Farke deserves shot at the Premier League with Leeds United
The primary goal has to be achieving promotion, and with just under half of the season to go, Leeds are still far, far away from doing so.
However, if they are to achieve it, Farke will have played a key role in the success and he will be deserving of the chance to secure their status in England’s top flight.
To be quite blunt about the situation, it’s hard to imagine a world in which Ancelotti departs Real Madrid to join Leeds United, but stranger things have certainly happened in the world of football.

But before any consideration about the Premier League is made, the sole focus has to be on winning promotion this season, with the automatic spots certainly up for grabs between at least four Championship sides.
Leeds continue their push for promotion with a home encounter against Norwich City midweek in another crucial fixture.
