Leeds United could sack Daniel Farke by November if they are promoted to the Premier League, according to Matt Davies-Adams.

The Whites sit top of the Championship table despite falling to a late draw against Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday (1 January).

Suppose the Elland Road club can maintain their form from the first half of the season, promotion is a realistic aim, but BBC pundit Davies-Adams can't see the German keeping his job given how poorly newly promoted sides perform in the top tier.

Speaking on The Athletic's Totally Football Show [2 January], he said: "You'd think that they've probably got enough to get over the line.

"They'll get promoted and by November they'll get a new manager and be trying to stay in the Premier League, not with Daniel Farke I imagine."

Daniel Farke could face Leeds United sack in Premier League

The top division in English football has become a difficult league for new sides to come into and compete and avoid relegation.

Last season, Burnley and Sheffield United were both relegated after just one season in the Premier League but are now forces in the Championship once again.

With Leeds and Sunderland the only true competition at the top of the table for these sides, it is proof of the gulf between the top and second tier.

If the Whites are to earn a divisional rise, there is going to be plenty of pressure on Farke and his players to consolidate themselves quickly.

It can be done as Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, Fulham and Bournemouth have proved in recent seasons, but it is a difficult task.

The German head coach at Elland Road needs to learn lessons from these sides or will certainly risk losing his job after such a lengthy process of building a side to earn promotion.
