Alan Nixon responds if Weston McKennie first-choice target for Leeds United
The Sun journalist Alan Nixon has hinted that signing a midfielder is a priority for Leeds United in January.
The publication carried out a story on Sunday where they claimed Leeds are interested in signing Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie.
The USA international wants to stay in Turin and fight for his place but is said to be available for around £20million.

A follower asked Nixon on Twitter whether McKennie remains the first-choice target for the Whites, as he feels 2-3 signings would be required.
Nixon has suggested that Joe Gelhardt is likely to get more chances going forward.
Crucial window
Leeds are struggling badly with injuries at the moment, but things could look bright for them in the next year.
Signing a midfielder is a top priority, and McKennie would be a solid addition.
He can play in multiple positions in midfield and can also play as a right-back.

The likes of Liam Cooper and Diego Llorente are expected to return shortly, while Patrick Bamford is not a long-term absentee.
Kalvin Phillips could be out for a while and that’s why a versatile central midfielder is needed.
Ideally, 2-3 signings are necessary, but Marcelo Bielsa hinted last week (17 December) that he doesn’t want to overspend.
The Argentine said that Leeds owners have already spent a huge sum on transfers in recent years and that he is not sure how much transfer budget will be available to him.
Bielsa doesn’t want to add players just for the sake of it. So, it’s highly likely that Leeds would only sign a midfielder in January, and it could be McKennie.
