Agents circle round Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips ahead of summer – report

Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips is in the middle of an agent frenzy just hours after Marcelo Bielsa was sacked at Elland Road.

That’s according to Mike Keegan of the Daily Mail, who reports that Phillips could swap agents in the upcoming summer.

His current deal with Kevin Sharp expires at the end of the season, and agencies are circling in an attempt to get him to switch.

Writing in his Sports Agenda for the Daily Mail, Keegan shared that a big switch could take place this summer.

“Leeds star Kalvin Phillips is being circled by the big guns of the agency world,” he wrote. “The 26-year-old, who was previously linked with a move to Manchester United, is represented by former Leeds defender Kevin Sharp.

“Phillips’ deal expires this summer and there will be no shortage of takers should he decide to make a switch.

“But it is understood Sharp is confident his services will be retained given his long history with and support of the player.”

Frenzy.

As soon as Bielsa left the club, there were going to be doubts surrounding many of our big players who had built a huge relationship with him.

None more so than Phillips, who shared an emotional tribute to the man who changed everything for him in his career over the past four years.

There would be panic if the Yorkshire Pirlo was to switch agents.

It would instantly start rumours that he was pushing for a move, but that wouldn’t be the case, he may just be getting a better financial deal.

Sharp has been outspoken about Phillips’ desire to sign a new contract at Elland Road, and hopefully, Bielsa leaving doesn’t change that.

The ideal outcome would be for the player to stay where he is and put pen-to-paper on a new contract at the club, not just with his agent.
