Agent raves about ‘incredible’ Leeds United talent Harvey Sutcliffe as team news emerges

Agent Kevin Sharp has raved about “incredible” Leeds United youngster Harvey Sutcliffe ahead of the under-21s’ Premier League International Cup clash.

Taking to X (24 October), Sharp, the former agent of Kalvin Phillips, waxed lyrical about the 20-year-old defender and praised his ability to return from an extended injury.

Sutcliffe made the bench for Leeds’ clash against Herta Berlin in the youth competition after suffering an Anterior cruciate ligament injury against Sunderland’s under-21s in 2022.

Point to prove

Such a horrible injury at such a young age can be a huge setback for any player, but Leeds fans will hope Sutcliffe can prove his worth in the youth system

Last season, his minutes were severely limited due to injury amassing just 419 in all competitions, as per Transfermarkt. That being said, he still managed to get two assists in four Premier League 2 appearances – impressive for any player let alone a defensive one.

Leeds tied the youngster down on new terms last summer, showing they have real faith in his ability. His versatility, which allows him to play as both right and left-back as well as centre-back, proves his capabilities at the back, but he often finds himself in advanced positions.

Leeds United

Sutcliffe is no stranger to playing with Leeds’ first-team stars as he provided an assist for Willy Gnonto against Sunderland in the game where he suffered his untimely injury, so potential action under Farke is not off the cards.

However, he will be keen to impress at his current level before thinking about Championship football and if Sharp’s view on him is anything to go by, he could prove a valuable asset at Elland Road in the future.
