Agent of Leeds United target Ugurcan Cakir makes major transfer admission
Ugurcan Cakir’s agent has revealed that the goalkeeper is keen on moving to Europe amid links to Leeds United.
According to the Turkish media outlet Fanatik, the Whites will be rivalled for the 25-year-old’s services by Sevilla and Newcastle.
Cakir, who is Trabzonspur’s captain, wants to win the Turkish league and then move to a European league to establish his career.

His brother and agent, Nedcet Cakir, said of his future, via TEAMtalk, “It is a great honour for Ugurcan to be the captain of Trabzonspor and to serve in the national team.
“Ugurcan’s only current goal is to become a champion at Trabzonspor. When he completes his mission in Trabzonspor, he wants to go to Europe if he can.”
Keeper needed?
There are talks about Illan Meslier being wanted by Europe’s top clubs.
Thus far, we do not think there is any concrete in the Frenchman’s services.
Even if there is, the Whites will play hard ball to keep him at the club as they cannot lose Raphinha and another key player in the same window.

However, if he says that he wants to leave after next season then it makes sense to keep someone like Cakir as an option.
He is a full Turkey international and a regular for club and country at 25.
While we do not fully know how good a fit he will be, Leeds will thoroughly scout him before bringing him in as it’s one of the most important positions and replacing Meslier is not going to be an easy task.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are leading the race to complete a major signing and have already opened talks to seal a £25m deal.
