Agent gutted as Leeds United sensation Harvey Sutcliffe suffers serious knee injury in Premier League 2 win

Harvey Sutcliffe’s agent has taken to Twitter to react to the news the Leeds United youngster has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury this week.

On Tuesday, LUFC Youth reported that the 19-year-old full-back will be out for months as he recovers from a knee injury he sustained in the Premier League 2 win over Sunderland.

Former Leeds striker Kevin Sharp is Sutcliffe’s agent and he replied to LUFC Youth’s tweet to send his best wishes to the youngster, who’s been playing very well in Premier League 2 this season for the Whites’ Under-21s.

Writing via his personal Twitter account on Wednesday morning (12 October), Sharp, who was previously Kalvin Phillips’ agent, said: “A real shame, especially when you were in such great form.

“Keep strong and positive which will help the recovery process.

“Here for you as always if you need anything at all.”

Sutcliffe seems to have a lot of support around him.

You don’t usually see agents speaking out on Twitter to offer support to their clients when they suffer such a bad injury while Sutcliffe’s Instagram account is telling too.

It feels as though almost every single Under-21s player has replied to the young defender’s Instagram message where he says he’s “gutted” to be injured.

Sutcliffe was forced off late on as Leeds’ Under-21s won 1-0 away at Sunderland.

He had the option to go off on the stretcher but opted to – just about – walk off the field.

It’s gutting because Sutcliffe has had such a strong start to the season at left-back.

He’s mainly been viewed as a right-back but has shown great versatility so far this term and hasn’t played in anything but wins in Premier League 2.

Let’s hope he recovers quickly and fully so he can continue making the rapid progress he has been making at Thorp Arch in recent months.
