Adam Pope shares what happened in Leeds United meeting between Victor Orta and Jesse Marsch

Leeds United duo Jesse Marsch and Victor Orta met on Wednesday to discuss the profile of signings they want to make in the summer.

That’s according to BBC journalist Adam Pope who claims that the two did not discuss exactly who will leave and who will be signed.

In the build-up to the weekend game against Watford, Pope shared this revelation via his personal Twitter account.

He wrote, “JM met yesterday with Orta re scouting & created profiles of players they require. Wasn’t so much about who exactly will be going or coming.”

Planning ahead

The January transfer window was a disappointing one and it seems like things were not planned properly.

It makes sense for them to discuss the transfer window and the types of players they want for next season.

It goes without saying that a new central midfielder is the need of the hour.

They have been linked with players in that position for the last two summers and have still failed to get anyone.

They could possibly look for another striker as well as Patrick Bamford has been extremely injury prone.

Dan James has struggled as a striker and that cannot be the club’s long-term plan in case the England international is missing.

Signing another left-back either to be an upgrade or a backup to Junior Firpo is required as that is not Stuart Dallas’ preferred role.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are leading the race to complete a major signing and have already opened talks to seal a £25m deal.
