Adam Pope delivers ‘underwhelming’ Leeds United transfer verdict
Adam Pope has described Leeds United’s transfer window as “underwhelming.”
It was a busy summer at Leeds, with plenty of players both leaving and joining the club.
However, BBC Radio Leeds’ Pope wasn’t all that impressed with the Whites’ transfer business.
While speaking via the podcast, ‘Don’t Go To Bed Just Yet’ (2 September), Pope said, “We often use this expression about the signings being in isolation, or the sales being in isolation, or results in isolation.
“I still stand by it, I think the window is still a little bit underwhelming because we just don’t know of the quality of the players and how they are going to do.
“However, on first sight, hopefully, the recruitment team have gone out and got the players that are going to adapt very quickly to this level.”
Leeds United squad weakened at Elland Road?
It is hard to say whether or not Daniel Farke’s squad has improved from last season.
Until some of the new players at Elland Road have been given a chance to properly settle in, it would be unfair to judge or criticise them too heavily.
The Whites lost some key stars, there is no getting away from that. Seeing the likes of Archie Gray and Crysnecio Summerville leave the club would have no doubt upset fans.
However, that is not to say that some top talent hasn’t been signed. Joe Rodon’s stay has been made permanent, and in Manor Solomon, the club have a forward with experience in the UEFA Champions League.
Farke will no doubt be expected to make another promotion push this season. Therefore, he will hope that his new signings can hit the ground running.

However, until a couple of months go by, supporters should refrain from making any snap judgements.
