Leeds United: Rafa Mujica quits Elland Road
Leeds United have confirmed that Rafa Mujica has quit Elland Road and joined Las Palmas on a permanent basis.
Mujica, formerly of Barcelona, never made a first-team appearance for the Whites and has joined the club where he spent some time on loan last season.
The 22-year-old was signed in the summer of 2019 and struggled to make an impact on the first team at Elland Road, and it is no surprise to see him leave.
Mujica a flop?
Given that he is now 22, you would think if he were going to have some impact on the first team, he would have done so by now.
Mujica spent most of his time at Elland Road out on loan at various clubs, so it is really no surprise to see that he has left the club now [transfermarkt].
He made almost no difference to the Whites in his time as a Leeds player, so the best thing for him was to move on and, hopefully, re-ignite his career elsewhere.
Given that he was a former Barcelona B Team player, he must have some quality and maybe this move to Las Palmas can get Mujica back on track.
In truth, his exit is probably barely even going to register with many Leeds fans who most likely forgot he even existed.
In his time at Elland Road, Mujica did so little that there is probably absolutely no need to replace him, so the Whites can put those wages into something else.
