Adam Forshaw was in tears after man of the match display in Leeds United v Leicester

Adam Forshaw was in tears at the end of his first Premier League start for Leeds United in their 1-1 draw with Leicester on Sunday, according to Phil Hay.

Writing on The Athletic website, the ex-Yorkshire Evening Post journalist reported that Leeds’ non-international players have been given a few days off by Marcelo Bielsa after what was arguably the best performance of the season versus the Foxes at Elland Road.

Forshaw is said to be one of them with Leeds will see how his body reacts to playing the entire 90 minutes of a league game for the first time in over 700 days after a hellish spell with injuries.

Well-earned rest

It feels weird to be so buzzing about a draw but it really was a top-class performance by Leeds United on Sunday.

Harvey Barnes – who always seems to get a goal against us – scored a wondergoal, which is what ultimately settled the tie but we definitely had enough chances to be able to win.

Jack Harrison and Rodrigo both squandered chances while Raphinha was his usual self and getting on the scoresheet again.

Raphinha shouldn’t be the only player who’s scoring though and other players in the attack need to start pulling their weight.

There are no such complaints about Forshaw and his performance against Leicester with the ex-Middlesbrough midfielder playing out of his skin.

He made Kalvin Phillips look bad – and that really isn’t easy.

We cannot wait to see more of Forshaw but for now, he needs to rest up and see how he recovers from that 90-minute masterclass against the Foxes.

In other Leeds United news, this first-team ace may have suffered a setback in his recovery from injury.
