Adam Forshaw still has important role for Leeds United – Jesse Marsch
Jesse Marsch has insisted that Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw still has a part to play in the squad despite his season-ending injury.
The 30-year-old is set to miss six weeks’ worth of action after suffering a fractured kneecap in training.
Given his experience, the American believes the Englishman still has a lot to offer to the group as the Whites look to secure Premier League safety.

He told The Yorkshire Post: “Adam is one of the guys who gives more to the group and does everything he can to think about the team first so for us it’s painful but we will still have him around and he will be a big part of the group in the next weeks and we will still need his presence in the team.
“We brought Adam to Watford (for the previous game) thinking maybe there was a small chance we could consider him (for selection), but it was mostly to be around the team – to be in the hotel, to be in the pre-game meetings, to be there before the match, to make sure he had an impact on the preparation,” Marsch added “I believe in leaders.
“I try to give room for the players that are leaders to contribute to decision-making and take ownership of the environment.
“That’s the biggest impact Adam can have right now and a very important impact.”

Ultimate professional.
It may not be as long as Forshaw’s previous stints on the injury table but to suffer an injury like this in training, considering the season he is having, is terrible luck.
The veteran has been one of Leeds’ best players this season which has shocked many and they will really miss him in their final six games of the season.
This season has seen the dynamo seemingly put his past injury problems behind him and turn over a leaf in his Whites career but this will be a cold reminder.
Marsch wanting to keep him in and around for the rest of the season speaks volumes of him as a player and a person though.
It might be difficult for him to be around the team on matchdays whilst being injured but his professionalism will ensure that he carries out his duty for the team – every little helps in a relegation dogfight.
