AC Milan plotting summer move for Raphinha
AC Milan are interested in bringing Leeds United forward Raphinha to San Siro in the summer, according to Italian outlet Pianeta Milan.
The Serie A giants have identified the Brazilian international, 24, as an important investment for their squad next season, and the report claim he should be within their reach as he is now valued at around £25.2million (€30million).
Milan officials will push for Raphinha’s signature next summer, with his skill set attractive to them after he proved his quality in the Premier League.
Leeds may have parted with just £17million to bring the South American to Elland Road from Rennes in the summer of 2020 [BBC], but suitors will need to at least move close to tripling that fee to have a chance of landing him at the end of the season.
Raphinha has not been short of suitors despite spending just 18 months in the English top-flight, and more will definitely emerge after he established himself as a key player in the national team during their World Cup qualifiers.
The Leeds ace will be looking to start playing regular Champions League football and challenging for silverware, and Milan have started doing that in recent seasons.
Whether they are attractive enough to lure him away from Elland Road remains to be seen, but there is no denying that the Whites face a huge task if they want to hold on to him beyond next summer.
In other Leeds United news, a major update on Whites January bid to sign attacker has been provided, with pen-to-paper imminent.
