49ers have already wasted millions at Leeds United as Georginio Rutter development emerges
49ers Enterprises may have already wasted millions on Georginio Rutter with a report claiming he was not keen on leaving Hoffenheim to join Leeds United in the January transfer window.
The 20-year-old has struggled for game-time and form since his record £35.5million move from TSG Hoffenheim and according to Kicker [7 March], he’s already missing his Hoffenheim teammates.
In his six games for the club, he’s been brought on as a substitute on five occasions and has so far not done enough to merit any starts at Elland Road.

And that report in Germany intriguingly claims the young Frenchman “shed bitter tears” before sealing his move to Elland Road.
The report says: “How much Georginio Rutter would miss TSG and his Hoffenheim colleagues were revealed by the state of mind of the young Frenchman when the transfer became apparent at the beginning of January.
“Rutter didn’t really want to leave and shed bitter tears. Adviser Roger Wittmann jetted to the training camp in Portugal to reassure his client and push the mega deal, which will bring in a lot of money for everyone involved and up to 40 million euros [£35.6m] for TSG.”
Rutter, before his mega move to Elland Road, established himself as one of Germany’s most exciting forward talents, recording 10 goals and four assists over the last two campaigns in the German Bundesliga.
And Kicker’s claim the player misses his former side may well be reciprocated, with TSG only recording just the solitary point since his move to West Yorkshire, and slipping into the relegation places.

It is safe to say that he is struggling as a Leeds United player right now, but there’s cause to argue that the 20-year certainly isn’t being aided by his teammates due to their lack of creative quality in the final third.
The Whites have scored just three times since the start of February, coinciding with the loss to injury of their key player Rodrigo whose aggression and tenacity are sorely being missed in his absence.
The young Frenchman needs to be afforded time and the right conditions to thrive in English football, but because of the perilous position the club are in right now in the Premier League table, that patience seems impossible.
Maybe the Whites should have waited until the summer to make their move for Rutter, a player moving from a totally different environment to join a side steeped in a relegation dogfight certainly doesn’t provide them with the right conditions to thrive. It’s totally understandable Rutter misses his TSG Hoffenheim teammates.
