'What a player' – These Leeds fans hail 'class' player despite 2-1 defeat v Millwall

Leeds lost 2-1 to Millwall on Saturday but one player stood out head and shoulders above everyone else in the team.

Brighton loanee Ben White has been an absolute revelation since joining in the summer and he was a measure of calm once again at the centre of the Leeds defence after Gaetano Berardi had been sent off.

He’s so comfortable on the ball, he helps spread his calm to other players and while he made a couple of mistakes in the first half of the game, he really stepped it up in the second 45, covering for Luke Ayling when he pushed forward.

As manager Marcelo Bielsa said after the game, “He’s a great player. He takes risks and he doesn’t make mistakes. That is the most difficult thing in football. The best players risk and don’t make mistakes.”

Kalvin Phillips might be the club’s heavyweight but White must be pushing him close for player of the season so far and plenty of Leeds fans acknowledged another brilliant display on Saturday.

Leeds still have the best defensive record in the Championship with seven goals conceded from 11 games. However, with Liam Cooper out injured for the next 4-6 weeks and Gaetano Berardi facing a ban unless his red card is wiped, White will need to be at his absolute best in the coming weeks.
