We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United
Paul Robinson has predicted a “comprehensive” 3-0 win for Leeds United in their game against Brighton on Saturday.
He thinks that Brighton are a decent side but that Leeds will be stung into action after a disastrous 3-0 defeat to Crawley in the FA Cup last weekend.
Kalvin Phillips is out for Leeds and Robinson admitted he would be a big loss but still said Leeds would have too much for a struggling Brighton side.
Talking exclusively to MOT Leeds News Robinson said, “Kalvin Phillips is going to be a big miss for Leeds, he always is.
“They’re at home, against a team who might be struggling near the bottom, but I like the way that Brighton have been playing.
“They’ve played well without getting results and without scoring goals, and I don’t think they’re far away from being a decent side.
“They’ll take some confidence from getting through their FA Cup game and holding Man City to 1-0.
“However, I fully expect Leeds to bounce back. The mentality will be very different and I hope the Crawley game was a shot in the arm, a wake-up call.
“I think Leeds will win comprehensively and I’m going for a 3-0 win.”
Pascal Struijk is going to be charged with taking the defensive midfield position in Phillips’ absence and he needs a big performance in white.
A win would take Leeds onto 26 points – a full 12 points above Brighton who had claimed they were direct rivals in the summer.
