Leeds United might have been beaten 4-2 by Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday but they’ve got a big, high-profile fan in Graeme Souness.
The Sky Sports pundit made a huge claim saying that Leeds are the “biggest entertainers” in the Premier League.
He made the claim before the game on Sunday (Sky Sports, Sunday, 4pm) but repeated it afterwards when Leeds had been beaten by Arsenal.
“This is my favourite team of the year to watch, going all the way back to the first game of the season against Liverpool,” said Souness.
“You’re thinking, wow! The energy they play with, they play the right way. At times it makes them vulnerable but they’re a great watch.
“You will score goals, you will be vulnerable, but we’re in an entertainment business and they’re the biggest entertainers in the Premier League.”
Entertainers getting results
That’s some praise from Souness.
Leeds have been brilliant to watch this season but Man City fans might be irked by what he has said.
Man City have been in irresistible form this season, scoring goals for fun even without star man Kevin De Bruyne.
That Souness puts Leeds above them and Liverpool shows just how good Bielsa has got his team playing.
It’s even more of a feat when you consider that Leeds are newly-promoted, struggling heavily with injuries and comprised of mainly the same players that got promoted from the Championship.
Results are obviously important and Bielsa knows that, but if you can get them while playing amazing football, it’s the dream.
Leeds might have suffered some heavy defeats this season but the side is almost safe with 15 games still to play.
That’s a huge achievement and we’re only four points behind Tottenham, who are playing dour football despite their side being stuffed with star players.
