‘Animal’ – These Leeds fans wowed by ‘superb’ 27y/o despite unbeaten run going

There weren’t many positives to take from the game today for Leeds United fans but one was the performance of Gjanni Alioski.

Leeds United were up against it from the start.

Pablo Hernandez was injured in the second minute of the game and the sight of him hobbling off with a hamstring issue was an ugly one for Leeds fans.

Alioski came on for him and while he’s not a like-for-like swap, the 27-year-old was full of running and passion for the cause – as always.

Leeds went in at half-time one down after Aleksandar Mitrovic scored from the penalty spot.

Marcelo Bielsa acted decisively, bringing on Eddie Nketiah for Helder Costa in the second half.

Nketiah and Alioski combined brilliantly for the Leeds equaliser. A superb pass from Alioski found Nketiah who spun, lost his man and drove a shot across the box.

The Fulham keeper could only parry it and Patrick Bamford was on hand for his 10th goal of the season.

It wasn’t enough though with Fulham, perhaps against the run of play, scoring a second through Josh Onomah.

Alioski has been having a massive impact off the bench recently and plenty of Leeds fans were queueing up to pay their compliments to a man who acts the clown off the pitch, but is doing absolute bits on it at the moment.
