‘Stunning’ – These Leeds fans blown away by ‘Strachan-esque’ player in big 1-0 win

The Spanish wizard came to the rescue for Leeds United on Saturday afternoon and fans queued up to pay their tributes to Pablo Hernandez on Twitter.

It was a terrible first 45 minutes at Elland Road that was plagued with missed chances and compounded by an injury to Kalvin Phillips.

He was seen heading straight down the tunnel and the hope will be that he isn’t out for any significant length of time.

Thankfully, Leeds came out with more purpose for the second half and actually seemed a better side against Reading with Ben White in the holding midfield role.

It was Pablo Hernandez who made the breakthrough after a nifty little backheel from Helder Costa on the edge of the box.

His first effort was blocked but sheer perseverance saw him get another shot off which the goalkeeper could only parry into the roof of the net.

It was exactly what Leeds needed and it was a reminder of what Hernandez can do after he’d been off the boil for the last few games.

He went off after 85 minutes and Leeds managed to see the game out for a very valuable three points.

Here are the best reactions to his goal and overall display from fans on Twitter…
