'Stinking the place out', 'Abomination' – Many Leeds fans savage one player after 5-4 v B'ham

Leeds United delivered another fright to their fans after going two goals up against Birmingham on Sunday afternoon.

Cruising and looking like they would go on and score more, Leeds let Birmingham back into the game in the first half and then threatened to crumple.

The capitulation against Cardiff will have been fresh in the minds of Leeds fans and after letting a goal in today, the complexion of the game changed completely.

Birmingham suddenly looked dangerous and Leeds looked frail – and no more so than down the left-hand side.

Gjanni Alioski has won his place back in the side after injury to Pablo Hernandez but he came in for the brunt of the criticism from the Leeds fans today.

One fan said he wasn’t good enough to be a left-back for a top Championship side and said he was “being torn apart by a 16y/o” after his tussles with Jude Bellingham.

More shocking defending led to Birmingham equalising on the hour before Luke Ayling restored Leeds’ lead.

Could Leeds hold on for the win? Yes, but in a roundabout way. There were four more goals (with Alioski at fault for another) to give Leeds a 5-4 win, with Wes Harding scoring an own goal in the 95th minute.

Wow. That was an incredible game but not one for the faint of heart – and Alioski won’t want to watch it back either.

Here are a selection of reactions to Alioski’s display against Birmingham:
