Stan Collymore predicts unexpected Leeds United result v Burnley

Stan Collymore predicts Leeds United will lose at the hands of Burnley when the two Premier League strugglers meet at Elland Road on Sunday.

Leeds will play for the first time today since 18 December when they lost to Arsenal at Elland Road.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men are 16th in the standings with 16 points, five points ahead of Burnley, who are in 18th and five points behind.

And Collymore predicts the Clarets to close down that gap to the Whites by winning 1-0 at Elland Road.

“Unless Leeds are a lot more pragmatic, Sean Dyche will heap more pressure on Marcelo Bielsa,” Collymore wrote in the print edition of The People [2 January, page 58].

Not again, Stan

Collymore really does have it in for Bielsa.

Writing for the People on 31 October [page 56], Collymore slammed people who feel as though Bielsa is “unsackable” at Elland Road and even suggested that he could be axed by the Whites if they lost to Norwich earlier in the campaign.

Now he’s saying that another relegation-threatened side in Burnley will win at Elland Road and aimed another dig at Bielsa by suggesting he’ll come under pressure with a defeat.

And why is he saying that Leeds need to be pragmatic against Burnley?

We have nothing against Burnley at all but this is a side with just 15 goals this season – only bottom-placed Norwich [8] have fewer.

Dyche’s side is known for being the most pragmatic in the Premier League so why does Collymore want us to sit back against them?

He’s a weird bloke.

In other Leeds United news, this senior player is reportedly on his way out of Elland Road this month.
