‘Absolutely filthy’, ‘Unreal’ – Many Leeds fans blown away by ‘superb’ star in 1-0 v Swansea

There are two players that Leeds United really rely on – Pablo Hernandez and Kalvin Phillips.

Hernandez is being managed carefully by Marcelo Bielsa after an injury – he hasn’t started yet since the season resumed.

There are now fears over Kalvin Phillips after he was really struggling in the second half of this game and with heavy strapping around his left knee.

The Athletic journalist Phil Hay said he looked “uncomfortable” and that his “left leg is obviously giving him some grief”.

Plenty of fans called for him to be taken off so as not to exacerbate the issue but Phillips stayed on.

He seemed to recover but he wasn’t anywhere near his usual domineering self today.

However, Hernandez was there to save his side again.

He looked sharp but just couldn’t find the killer pass in the second 45. However, cometh the hour, cometh the man – Hernandez came up with what could be the most valuable goal of his Leeds career right at the death.

The goal came in the 89th minute and the outpouring of relief from the Leeds fans was incredible.

It puts Leeds six points clear of Brentford in second with just three games left. Can you smell it?

Here are the breathless reactions to the incredible late goal…
