Sky Sports pundit slams Leeds United defender Cody Drameh in Luton Town win v Sunderland

Leeds United defender Cody Drameh may have made it to the play-off final with Luton Town but was slammed by Andy Hinchcliffe.

With Luton leading Sunderland 2-0 in extra time on Tuesday, 16 May, the Black Cats sent their keeper forward for a corner but failed to score from it.

Drameh then found himself in a 3v1 situation and an open goal to slot the ball into but instead of passing it to his teammate for a simpler finish, he went for the glory himself and made an absolute mess out of it.

Speaking on Sky Sports Football [16,05, 21:53], “What is he doing? He’s trying to score? It’s unbelievable. Just pass the ball, it’s an open goal.”

Nearly cost his team

Sunderland did not really muster a proper goal-scoring opportunity after this miss, but they had a promising passage of play.

Drameh’s decision almost cost Luton as he could have easily passed the ball to one of his teammates to make it 3-0 and beyond all doubt.

However, it only ended 3-2 on aggregate and Drameh will be a relieved man as he’s there on loan and the fans aren’t really attached to him in the same manner as one of their other key players.

That said, it’s a good thing for the 21-year-old that he’s guided his side to the final and it’s only more game and he gets them to the Premier League.

They were a Non League side a decade ago and are now a win away from the top flight so it’s an incredible achievement to just be in this position.

Drameh looks all but set to leave Leeds and if Luton get promoted and look to sign him, he may be playing in the Premier League next season.
