‘Huge game’ – Sky Sports pundit predicts score in Fulham v Leeds clash
Leeds United travel to west London on Saturday to take on promotion rivals Fulham, and Sky Sports pundit David Prutton thinks they will take all three points from the game.
Scott Parker’s men are on a dismal run. Three defeats in a row has seen them drop to sixth in the league but the manager will be looking for a reaction in one of their biggest games of the season.
Leeds’ winning run came to an end in spectacular fashion when they threw away a three-goal lead in the game against Cardiff last week. However, they’re still unbeaten in 11, a run that goes back to the loss against Millwall when Gaetano Berardi was wrongly sent off.
Writing in his regular column on Sky Sports, Prutton said, “This is a huge game for Fulham. They should be right up there with Leeds and West Brom with the squad they have, but are badly adrift. If they don’t win here you think it may already be too late for them to make up that gap.
“Leeds really threw that win away against Cardiff last week. They head into the weekend with a 10-point lead over third place, but a few poor results at this level and that can dissipate quickly. I fancy them to bounce back and win here, though.”
Prutton thinks that Leeds will win 2-1.
Leeds will likely welcome Liam Cooper back into their starting XI after the skipper missed the last three games through injury.
He’ll be tasked with shepherding Aleksandar Mitrovic. He’s scored 16 goals in 21 games and is the current top scorer in the Championship.
Despite shipping three last week, Leeds still have the best defence in the league and will be hoping to keep Fulham and Mitrovic out for their 13th clean sheet of the season.
