‘Shocker’, ‘Worst game in a Leeds shirt’ – These fans savage one player after display v Fulham

It was a terrible first half for Leeds United at Craven Cottage, and an awful game from Luke Ayling.

We lost Pablo Hernandez to a hamstring in the first couple of minutes and then lost a goal from the penalty spot to a ridiculously soft challenge from Ben White five minutes later.

Leeds huffed and puffed but couldn’t get back into the game in the first 45, although they had some good chances.

Too many passes were going wayward though, and Kalvin Phillips and Luke Ayling were the worst offenders.

Ayling managed to wind up the Fulham fans with a massive push on Tom Cairney that almost propelled him into the dugout and led to Marcelo Bielsa helping him out. Bielsa’s nice like that.

Unfortunately, that was the most positive thing that Ayling did in the game.

Bielsa went for it in the second half, putting Eddie Nketiah on and keeping Patrick Bamford on the pitch too. And that paid dividends with Bamford equalising after a parried shot from Nketiah in the 53rd minute.

Kiko Casilla pulled off a brilliant save but Josh Onomah scored the second for Fulham in a hugely frustrating afternoon for Leeds.

Here are the best reactions to Ayling’s display this afternoon, with one fan saying it was his “worst game in a Leeds shirt”…
