Rodrigo Bentancur forced off with injury in Tottenham defeat, doubt v Leeds United

Rodrigo Bentancur is a doubt for Tottenham when they play Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday, according to football.london.

Bentancur, 24, was substituted off at half-time as Spurs lost 1-0 away at Burnley on Wednesday night.

It is understood that the ex-Juventus midfielder “slipped awkwardly” at Turf Moor ahead of being taken off by Antonio Conte and it now remains to be seen whether he’ll be available to play at Leeds this weekend.

Away from Bentancur, football.london reports that there are also doubts surrounding whether Oliver Skipp and Japhet Tanganga could return from their respective injury issues which have kept them sidelined for a number of weeks.

All to do

Both managers seem to be under massive pressure going into this game.

After Burnley beat Spurs on Wednesday, Antonio Conte shared an incredible post-match interview in which he essentially admitted he might not be the right man for the job in North London [BBC Sport].

No one was really questioning whether Conte will be going despite their loss at Turf Moor, but here we are with a manager seemingly putting his own future in doubt.

As for Leeds, Marcelo Bielsa now finds his side just three points clear of the bottom-three after losing 6-0 to Liverpool on Wednesday.

It’s a really sad state of affairs because of everything that the Argentine has done for the Yorkshire club and it may all come down to a really disappointing season.

No matter what, we’re not going to finish well this term so avoiding relegation with Bielsa in charge is now the best outcome.

But if we slip even more, Bielsa’s future will no doubt start to come under major scrutiny as relegation is unthinkable for this football club.

In other Leeds United news, Richard Keys has gone berserk over the defeat to Liverpool and suggests Bielsa should be sacked.
