Richard Keys wants Marcelo Bielsa sacked, blasts shambolic Leeds United in loss v Liverpool
Richard Keys suggested Marcelo Bielsa should be sacked by Leeds United as they lost 6-0 away at Liverpool on Wednesday night.
Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane both scored twice while Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk also netted to wrap up a resounding win for Jurgen Klopp’s title-chasing Reds.
Leeds are now just three points clear of the relegation zone with Burnley beating Tottenham and ex-Sky Sports host Keys feels Bielsa would be gone if he was British.
“Do we think that if a British coach was in charge of Leeds right now he’d be getting the sack? What makes Bielsa different? Leeds are a shambles,” said Keys via his personal Twitter account on Wednesday night [23 February].
Keys then added at full-time: “Bielsa can’t survive this surely? It’s the definition of madness – keep doing the same thing….. That’s not good coaching. 6-0.”

No one expected us to do anything but lose against Liverpool so this game hasn’t changed our opinion on Bielsa that much.
However, is anyone fed up of the repeated mistakes?
Bielsa has gone from the man who could do no wrong to the man who seems to get absolutely everything wrong.
No January signings? That was down to Bielsa. Players continually injured? You can put that down to the manager too.
Players being played out of position? Bielsa. Tyler Roberts being substituted on every game despite never having an impact off the bench? Bielsa. Going gung-ho every time Leeds play a top team and getting stung? Bielsa.
Yes, he’s done wonders at this football club but that’s in the past now. He’ll always be someone who we love and admire here at Elland Road and we’ll be gutted when the day comes for him to go.
However, the day he goes seems to be edging closer and him leaving sooner rather than later may be beneficial towards Leeds’ Premier League status.
In other Leeds United news, Jamie Carragher has told this Elland Road-linked manager he’ll see him next season.
