‘Ridiculous’ – Sky Sports pundit delivers verdict on Leeds and makes exciting prediction
Sky Sports pundit Paul Robinson has said that Leeds United were “absolutely sensational” as they destroyed Stoke City at Elland Road on Thursday night.
Talking on The Football Show (Sky Sports, Friday, 10am) he predicted that Leeds could take all three points from the Swansea game on Sunday and secure promotion next Thursday at home to Barnsley.
Robinson was asked what Leeds had to do to ensure promotion and he said, “Play like they did last night. They were absolutely sensational.
“I watched the game last night and 5-0 flattered Stoke. Leeds dominated possession and could have won a lot more comfortably than they did as ridiculous as that sounds.
“Yesterday was everything you expected. Hernandez came on at half-time and he was the difference. Everything Leeds did went through him.
“The important thing now is not to take the foot off the gas. I think two more wins will do it. Swansea won’t be easy but I think they can go there and get all three points.”
We want to see Leeds secure promotion at Elland Road even though fans can’t be there to see it.
Brentford would need to slip up for Leeds to see their Premier League dreams come true on Thursday but that could happen.
They travel to Derby on Saturday and could easily come unstuck against a side that simply have to win to have any chance of making the play-offs.
Brentford have been brilliant but how many games can they win in a row? With both Leeds and West Brom winning this week and games running out, it must be psychologically tough to keep up the charge.
One thing is certain, in less than two weeks time we’ll know for sure whether we’re going to be watching Leeds in the Premier League next season.
Our money says we will be.
