Predicted Leeds United XI v Southampton: Kalvin Phillips makes first start since December
Leeds United are next set to take on Southampton in the Premier League once the international break finishes on Saturday, April 2.
The Saints will visit Elland Road as Jesse Marsch will be looking to register only his ever home win as Leeds boss.
While he saw a lot of players return from injury over this weekend, the 3-2 win against Wolves saw four players having to be subbed off during the game.
Issuing an update after the win, he said, “Patrick Bamford we believe is not too bad. His plantar fasciitis has just been sensitive as he’s tried to get himself back. The reaction can look like it’s a bad one, I think he was just really disappointed to come off.
“Klich had a concussion but seems to be okay. Illan [Meslier] picked up a bit of a hip contusion, we’ll see what that looks like but I don’t think it looks too bad.
“Kalvin [Phillips] was never going to play.”

He also confirmed that Diego Llorente would not travel with the Spain squad during the break and would stay on at Thorp Arch.
This means there’s a good chance that he could be benched or miss the next game, altogether, as Cooper should be in line for a start.
We also think that Meslier could do with another game’s rest if his condition is worse that what it appeared to Marsch initially.
We also fancy Phillips returning and making his first start since December 2021.
His return could see Adam Forshaw being axed as Mateusz Klich has been in impeccable form of late.
Both Rodrigo and Jack Harisson scored against Wolves so Dan James is the only player left to be dropped for Raphinha.
