Phil Hay shares bad news on Tyler Adams in Leeds United team news v Wolves
Phil Hay has shared the “bad news” that Tyler Adams could be missing for weeks at Leeds United, if not longer ahead of the Premier League clash against Wolves.
The Whites travel to Molineux on Saturday 18 March looking to pick up three points ahead of the international break, hopefully pushing them out of the bottom three.
Adams has picked up a hamstring strain to miss this one, with Hay also pointing out that he would start Wilfried Gnonto and Rodrigo if they are both fit enough.
Writing in his pre-match Q&A for The Athletic, Hay shared the worrying update from Elland Road ahead of the last fixture before the international break.
“The bad news for Leeds is that Tyler Adams is missing,” he wrote.
“No official word on how severe his hamstring strain is but recovery time from that sort of injury normally takes at least a few weeks and often longer. Will that mean McKennie and Roca in the middle? And what about Gnonto? Personally, I would be starting with him.

“And if Rodrigo is fit enough, I’d be using him up front.”
Bad News.
As soon as the update on Adams arrived saying it was a hamstring problem, Leeds fans grimaced up and down the country, it doesn’t get much worst than that.
The American international could be out for months, not weeks if it is bad enough and that would leave a huge hole at the base of midfield for Javi Gracia to contend with.
It would put more responsibility on Marc Roca and Weston McKennie though, who are both more than capable of shining in the Premier League with their quality.
Although we would never wish to lose Adams, the truth is he has been poor in recent weeks with stray passes and a lack of energy that we usually see from him at Elland Road.
It could be that this injury has been niggling at him for weeks, and the sooner he is back to 100%, the better, and if that is against Arsenal after the international break, that would be perfect.
In other Leeds United news, the club may now face a losing battle to keep their star player at Elland Road beyond the summer transfer window.
