'Murdering them': Many Leeds fans buzzing at 'relentless' display of one player despite 3-3 draw

This was unbelievable. Leeds United took the game at Elland Road on Saturday by the scruff of the neck and then threw it away.

Despite having the best defence in the Championship, they conceded three goals in the final 30 minutes of the game, despite Cardiff having a man sent off.

Helder Costa got the first for Leeds, his second league goal of the season, and what a cool finish it was from a sublime through ball from Pablo Hernandez.

Patrick Bamford got the next two and he’s back on top form too.

Bamford’s second was a penalty. Leeds getting penalties and scoring them too… It seemed like it was scripted for an easy win, but…

Cardiff got a goal back midway through the second half, made it really twitchy for the Elland Road faithful in the 82nd minute and completed the comeback five minutes later.

It was really poor defending from Leeds

Costa came in for some criticism from fans earlier in the season who were expecting him to come in and hit top form under Bielsa straight away.

That’s partly down to the £15m price tag that Leeds are going to shell out for him in the summer. There will be no qualms about his price tag if he carries on playing like he has recently.

Costa has been hitting his peak without getting the end results he’s deserved. However, that’s two goals in four games now and he was sensational for the most part of Saturday’s game.

That’s ominous for the chasing pack.

Here are a selection of the fans’ reactions to Costa on Saturday.

It’s a trip to Craven Cottage for Leeds next, where they’ll look to put the Cardiff game behind them with a win against one of their main promotion rivals.
