Michael Owen delivers Leeds United relegation verdict after Liverpool loss with games v Leicester and Bournemouth ahead
Michael Owen believes Leeds United will stay up despite losing to Liverpool if they pick up four points from the Leicester and Bournemouth games.
The Whites lost 6-1 at home to the Reds on Monday at Elland Road, putting further pressure on Javi Gracia as the new manager bounce appears to have ended.
Leeds face Fulham next after which they’ve got back-to-back six pointers against Leicester and Bournemouth – both of whom are desperately battling relegation.

Owen said on Premier League Productions [17/04, 22:38], “They have Fulham next but after that, Leicester and Bournemouth, they’re massive games. If they can get four from those two then they will stay in the Premier League.”

Not only will those results give Leeds four points, they will take three and one point off their relegation rivals and that’s just as important.
Leeds will be targeting the 38 points mark and three wins should be enough to see them over the line.
Even if they get two wins and manage to eke out a draw here and there, they will be in good shape and that’s important at this juncture of this season.

They just have to tighten up their defence as conceding eleven goals in two home games is unacceptable and the kind of performance that gets a team relegated.
Hopefully, these have been eye openers for the Whites and Javi Gracia and they’ve learnt something from these performances.
Even Fulham aren’t fighting for anything so they can go out and get something from Craven Cottage as well.
