Michael Owen has backed Leeds United forward Patrick Bamford to score in the Premier League clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The English legend admitted that the 27-year-old missed too many chances against Leicester, but believes he can bounce back at Selhurst Par.
Bamford has scored six goals in his seven games this season, and Gareth Southgate even opened the Three Lions door to him if his form continues.
Writing in his Bet Victor column on Friday, Owen believes Bamford could take advantage of some chances at Selhurst Park.
“Leeds talisman Patrick Bamford scored a hat-trick away at Villa two weeks ago, however, he spurned a few opportunities last week against Leicester,” he said.
“With both sides out of form, this could be tight. However, Leeds have bagged 7 goals in their 3 away Premier League matches so far this season and I think that may be the difference here. If Bamford can find his scoring boots, I fancy him to be amongst the goals in an away win.”
Bounce back ability
Whenever Leeds lose, they tend to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
In the two games, they’ve lost season, they scored seven goals in the two following clashes at Aston Villa and Fulham.
Bamford was key to both of those wins, scoring four goals in total – including that mesmerising treble at Villa Park.
If Leeds make many chances in London, Bamford will likely be on the end of them, and that could be the difference between winning and losing.
