Leeds United moved above Sunday’s opponents Arsenal into 10th place in the league with a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on Monday night, but the win came at a cost.
Kalvin Phillips went down with what looked to be a muscle problem before soldiering on for another 15 minutes.
Marcelo Bielsa might end up regretting that after Phillips eventually hobbled off with an injury.
Talking after the game Marcelo Bielsa said he didn’t know the extent of the problem.
He wasn’t the only casualty either. Pablo Hernandez didn’t even make the squad for the game and Bielsa confirmed that he was suffering from a minor muscle injury.
Phillips a big worry
We’re starting to get an ominous feeling about Pablo Hernandez, and it really feels like it’s the beginning of the end of the line for him at Leeds.
His fitness is an issue and he’d already started falling down the pecking order.
Kalvin Phillips is the big worry for Leeds ahead of the Arsenal game.
He’s such a vital player in the Bielsa system and we don’t have anyone who can come in and replace him.
Pascal Struijk looks really out of depth there and Mateusz Klich isn’t good when he’s dropping back.
We have to hope that Phillips recovers for the Arsenal game but we can’t understand why he played on for 10-15 minutes when he was obviously carrying a problem.
