Leeds United v Rotherham: Archie Gray update emerges

Archie Gray has given a hint that he will be starting for Leeds United v Rotherham on 24 November, according to Joe Donnohue.

The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist reported that he’s doing the media duties which means he’s expected to be named in the eleven.

He also revealed five players in a pre-game huddle and it remains to be seen if they’ll be among the starters.

Via Twitter, Donnohue wrote, “Patrick Bamford, Joel Piroe, Ethan Ampadu, Jaidon Anthony and Pascal Struijk all in a big huddle in the centre circle. Junior Firpo psyching himself up with his headphones in. Archie Gray doing pre-match media duties which usually indicates he’ll be starting.”

Good news

The decision to deploy Gray, traditionally a midfielder, at right-back this season for Leeds United under the management of Daniel Farke reflects the versatility and adaptability that Farke values in his players.

Farke, known for his tactical astuteness, appreciates players who can seamlessly transition between positions, enhancing squad depth and tactical flexibility.

Gray’s foray into the right-back role not only showcases his adaptability but also speaks to Farke’s ability to identify and maximise players’ strengths in different positions.
