Leeds United: Sky Sports man slams ‘poor’ Crysencio Summerville moment v Bristol City
Crysencio Summerville was slammed for a “poor” finish in the first half of Leeds United v Bristol City by Sky Sports commentator Andy Hinchcliffe.
The Dutch ace was part of the Leeds side that defeated the Robins 1-0 at Ashton Gate on Friday (2 February) thanks to Wilfried Gnonto’s second-half strike.
But Summerville, back in the side after missing the FA Cup draw with Plymouth Argyle last time out, was guilty of missing a great chance after an error from George Tanner.
Speaking on Sky Sports’ live coverage of the game, co-commentator Hinchcliffe said: “So fortunate to escape there under no real pressure George Tanner.
“He laboured on the ball that’s the problem, you cant afford to do that against Leeds, as a team, individually they’ll press you.
“I’m not saying it’s the wrong choice from Summerville because he sees the keeper’s well off his line and thinks I can dink it over him, he just doesn’t get underneath the ball enough and it’s a poor finish in the end.
“He could have gone round the goalkeeper. It probably was the right decision to dink it over him he just got the execution wrong.”
Crysencio Summerville moment doesn’t cost Leeds United
Considering Summerville has 12 Championship goals to his name this season playing off the left flank you would have bet your life savings on the Dutchman burying this chance after robbing Tanner and going through one-on-one.
Alas, he dinked it straight into the arms of the grateful home goalkeeper and put his head in his hands after knowing he missed a glorious opportunity to put the Whites ahead in a game that had not ignited at that point.

It was a night where Leeds did not really have their shooting boots and it took a really well-taken goal from Wilfried Gnonto – afforded a rare league start – to get Daniel Farke’s men up and running.
The three points leaves Leeds in the top two, astonishingly for the first time this season, to put some pressure on Southampton and Ipswich Town before their respective clashes with Rotherham United and Preston North End on Saturday (3 February).
