Daniel Farke has made five changes to his starting lineup for the Leeds United game against Bristol City on Friday (2 February).

Ahead of kick-off, the Whites confirmed via their official Twitter account that Illan Meslier will start in goal, with Archie Gray, Joe Rodon, Ethan Ampadu and Junior Firpo making up the defence.

Ilia Gruev will be joined in midfield by Glen Kamara, while Willy Gnonto, Georginio Rutter, Crysencio Summerville and Patrick Bamford will play in the attacking positions.

That means Liam Cooper, Jamie Shackleton, Sam Byram, Jaidon Anthony and Joel Piroe drop down to the bench, with new signing Connor Roberts not included amongst the substitutes at Ashton Gate.

Leeds can keep momentum going

This is an excellent opportunity for Leeds to keep their momentum going after picking up four straight Championship wins on the bounce.

They can move into the automatic promotion places with a victory as Ipswich Town and Southampton aren't in action until Saturday (3 February).

Farke will know that picking up three points will put the pressure firmly on their promotion rivals, but a defeat would be a real blow to their aspirations this season.

It's important that the Whites can build up some more confidence on the road after they have faltered slightly at times away from Elland Road during this campaign.

It won't be an easy game as Bristol City will be looking to propel themselves into the hunt for a playoff place, but the West Yorkshire club have more than enough at their disposal to come away with a positive result.
