Leeds United set for major pre-season announcement on Thursday

Leeds United are reportedly set to take on Aston Villa as part of a series of pre-season games in Australia in the month of July.

According to news.com.au, the Whites will be heading to Queensland along with the fellow Premier League side.

The official announcement will be made on Thursday with the game expected to be played on July 17.

Brisbane Roar is the third team in the series and will take on Leeds on the 14th before squaring off against Villa on the 20th.

Down under

Leeds are going down under and not down this year.

A season that has been marred with relegation battles is expected to end with them retaining their Premier League status.

While it still is not a foregone conclusion, the Whites hold a comfortable cushion and are just clear of the drop zone.

It’s good to see them going to Australia and many other Premier League clubs are following suit as well.

Manchester United and Crystal Palace will also be joining Villa and Leeds in their tour to the East of the globe.

It’s a great time of the year to visit and the weather conditions will also suit the players.

Tours always give them some time to get back in shape and also bond with the new players and the youngsters who’ve been promoted to the first team.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are leading the race to complete a major signing and have already opened talks to seal a £25m deal.
