Leeds United player error truly ridiculous, someone needs to speak out now

Josuha Guilavogui continues to be disrespected as Leeds United travel to different Championship grounds this season.

It may seem like such a little problem in the grand scheme of things but anyone else in a similar situation would become frustrated if everyone spelt their name wrong.

Well, that is exactly what the Frenchman has to endure as Daniel Farke’s side travel to the away grounds during a tiring Championship campaign, with promotion definitely on the brain.

While Guilavogui has yet to even start a game for the Whites, he is clearly a valuable member of the squad, providing insight, knowledge and experience to an otherwise young team.

The 34-year-old has played all across Europe, battling away in the Bundesliga, La Liga and Ligue 1, including spells in the Champions League and Europa League.

He even managed to win seven caps for his country during his long-standing career, so it continues to baffle that clubs cannot show him the respect he deserves, even on a simple teamsheet.

Josuha Guilavogui blunder spotted once again in Leeds United clash

Derby County are the next Championship side to be caught, with Graham Smyth posting an image of the teamsheet via X with the caption: “Joshua is BACK”.

Is it a sign of disrespect or is it just laziness? Either way, someone needs to speak up to fix such a simple problem. There are far more complicated names on the exact same teamsheet.

Preston North End were also guilty of the error earlier this month.

Hopefully, Farke’s side can show exactly why the Rams should respect the entire team when taking them on at Pride Park on Sunday.

Whether the player cares about the lack of attention to detail or not, the misspelling of his name just comes across as careless and disrespectful. How difficult is it to spell someone’s name?

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are unlikely to offer a new deal to a player who “got found out” in the Premier League, a Leeds insider has said.
