Leeds United confirmed XI v West Ham: No Bamford
Marcelo Bielsa has named his Leeds United playing XI for the third-round FA Cup clash against West Ham on Sunday.
The Argentine has kept the injuries and fatigue in the squad in mind before making this call.
What stands out is that Sam Greenwood, Lewis Bate and Leo Hjelde have all been handed their full debuts for the Whites.
Despite playing in all league games, Illan Meslier starts ahead of Kristoffer Klaesson.
Greenwood is set to lead the line in the absence of Patrick Bamford, Tyler Roberts and Joe Gelhardt.
Adam Forshaw, Stuart Dallas and Raphinha have been handed much-needed rest and are on the bench.
Given the side Leeds have put it out, it’s hard to make a case for them being favourites to win it.
However, that would not matter one bit to their supporters as they want to watch their side play and get entertained.
Having some of the youngsters being given a chance will only add to the spice of the fixture.
That said, David Moyes and the Hammers will write off this Leeds side at their peril.
Last season, Leeds have beaten Manchester City despite being down to ten men and have dominated some of the big six teams.
They will fancy their chances against any opposition including the ones they face today.
All in all, this is poised to be a fantastic game.
