Leeds ace Casilla posts message that hints strongly at exit
Leeds United keeper Kiko Casilla has posted a cryptic message on Instagram that hints all is not well behind the scenes.
Casilla was dropped from the Leeds squad on Monday when the Whites lost 2-0 to West Ham.
Marcelo Bielsa confirmed after the game that he wasn’t injured and had been dropped for youngster Elia Caprile.
Casilla posted a story on his Instagram on Tuesday night and it reads, “I’m slow to go because I believe in changes.
“And I hope and I endure and I keep. But one day I get tired and without saying anything I leave everything and go.
“Believe me that once I get tired I won’t come back again, because I give everything before I leave.”
Shut the door behind you
Casilla lost his place in the Leeds side last season when he was banned for racist abuse. That was enough for a lot of fans to call for him to never play again.
Illan Meslier took the gloves and hasn’t looked back since with Casilla restricted to Under-23s appearances, the cups, and the first-team bench.
However, Marcelo Bielsa has supported him, while many fans would have been happy to see him leave.
He was made club captain for the Carabao Cup game against Hull earlier this season, much to some fans’ disgust.
This doesn’t look good, though, and it looks like we may well have seen the last of the keeper.
Casilla is on a reported £32k-a-week and that’s a lot of money for someone that unpopular with the fanbase to warm the bench.
We won’t be sorry to see him go and this message will be a relief to a lot of supporters.
It’s certainly not something that we can see Bielsa taking lightly.
