Journalist fumes at Leeds United ace Junior Firpo after what he did in first half v Wolves

Junior Firpo has been blasted for his first half performance against Wolves for Leeds United in the Carabao Cup third round clash.

The Spaniard got the nod from the start as Jesse Marsch made ten changes to his starting lineup, but found himself constantly up against his fellow countryman and speedster Adama Traore.

He struggled with the pace and skill of the winger, being skinned time and again on the wing and CBS journalist Jake Winderman had enough and called for him to be substituted immediately.

“Firpo getting absolutely skinned by Traore,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account (9 November).

“Get him off the pitch.”

As usual, it’s a poor showing from Firpo at left-back from a player who just simply isn’t good enough to play for this club.

Pascal Struijk isn’t a natural left-back but has looked far more assured in the position this season than Firpo ever has, and despite having great pace Firpo just can’t handle the physicality of the opposition.

Leeds started the game fast and well in attack with the youngsters linking up well, but as the game went on Wolves came into it more and the chances dried up for the Whites.

It’s a fiercely competitive game, but Marsch’s side are struggling for that killer edge in front of goal and right now Firpo is simply a passenger in the side.

If he continues with this performance, eventually Leeds carrying him won’t be possible and the team will be punished for their struggles sooner or later.

Firpo has been awful, but that’s nothing new to Leeds fans who watch the team regularly and fingers crossed we won’t have to see him too many times in the future.
